Moraine Cabernet Franc 2018
“Pretty, claret-coloured with a high-toned nose of newspaper ink, dark berries, a floral fragrance and leafy green shows the classic varietal characteristics of cabernet franc to a T. Mid-weight with gorgeous blackcurrant, plummy flavours, and savoury bay leaf complexity that meshes beautifully with graphite and cool menthol tones. Restrained and streamlined, this has a gravelly finish that will stretch out with a few more years in the bottle. Fresh and inviting with a simple lamb stew.”

90 points for Reserve Pinot Noir
Dec 24th, 2019
We are so much excited and eager to share the 90 points rating review by Anthony Gismondy for our 2018 Reserve Pinot Noir
“The Reserve Pinot is grown at Moraine’s Sophia Estate Vineyard on the Naramata Bench. The final wine stems from a vineyard selection of hand-harvested French clone 777. The fermentation was whole berry using natural yeast to express the site as much as possible, and all punch downs were done gently by hand. The final step involved a gravity transfer of the fermented juice to age sur lees in small French oak barrels for ten months before going to bottle unfined and unfiltered. The nose of this 13 percent pinot is electric, sporting savoury black cherries and tamarillo, a tangy fruit with a varying mix of kiwifruit, tomato, guava, or passion fruit. Bright and lean, calling for food and sophisticated sippers. I think flavourful dishes are best here like duck paté, cedar plank salmon or moo shu pork.”

Platinum is the new gold; Moraine’s 2016 Riesling reaches for the stars and brings back a platinum award from the 18th Annual Wine Press Northwest Platinum Competition. In an exclusive event, consisting of gold medal winners in previous competitions, our 2016 Riesling managed to pull off a huge award which could be described as “The best of the best”, not only Canada, but the United States were also included.
You may think you’re only into red wine, but give this Riesling a chance and you might switch teams, it’s that good.
Last but not least…
